ROW (Right of Way) Traffic Control will be providing the traffic control planning for the upcoming CicLAvia Heart of the Foothills, a special Earth Day celebration.
The free event on Sunday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. will consist of 6.5 miles of safe, car-free spaces for thousands of people to bike, walk, play and smile.
The cities of San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona and Claremont will have stretches of their streets closed to car traffic. There is no starting or stopping point, participants are urged to start and stop and their own leisure.
In order to close portions of four cities to car traffic, pedestrian and traffic control are necessary. Right of Way is working with event coordinators to effectively and safely close the 6.5-mile stretch by obtaining permits, providing traffic plans and planning equipment placement and staffing for the day of the event.
